And for good reason!
Between work, and this new relationship, I have been a very, very busy girl.
In between those two time consumers (one is great, the other pays great!), I am also spending time with my personal trainer, spending time at the gym and volunteering 4 hours a week for the library. Oh yeah, and I've been busting my hump with some professional side projects (chat host, article writer, book reviewer) and was just offered another position as an article writer for a national news website....haven't decided if there is room in my life for that yet! Unfortunately the solo hiking has been cut WAY back :(
When he and I hang out, it has ranged from throwing darts at the local bar to hiking with friends, to checking out some new restaurants, to the recently very domesticated night at Home Depot and Target :) Not only did we make dinner TOGETHER last night (and it was mighty delish!), he made breakfast this morning AND packed my lunch for me today....NEVER in my wildest dreams......:D He also recently dumped my computer and set me up with all new software....very awesome!
Meanwhile, we are preparing for a friends wedding in a month in a half in Vegas, a hiking trip to Utah in June (in addition to or in place of Yosemite) and another wedding in November. I'd also still like to fly home at some point (and perhaps introduce him to the fam?!) as well as fly to Portland to see my sisters new hometown. My parents are also coming to visit in May/June and I will hopefully be getting new digs of my own in a month or so. Plus there are conferences I'd still like to get to for work, and small weekend trips and things we'd like to do and see....I'm not sure when we'll get it all done, but we will sure try!
Whew....just writing all the things I need to do (or attempt to do) has exhausted me...perhaps there is room in here for sleep somewhere!?

hmmmmm, he fixes your computer, he makes your lunch....and oohhhh, he made you breakfast.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a girlfriend led relationship :) LOL
(And no time to sleep.....I'll let that one go but it's killing me!)
I'm sure that whatever is keeping you awake is well worth the lack of sleep! ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo, so, so happy for you!
Hahaha, you guys are FILTHY!
ReplyDeleteNo, between my crazy work schedule, his school, work and physical therapy appointments and other life thingys, time seems to be in short supply!
And it is NOT a girlfriend led relationship at all. I cook more for him than he does for me (and it is verbally appreciated which is a nice change), we go places HE would like to go (not just where I'd like to go) and he gets to spend time with his friends when he wants to. Its a 50/50 relationship and its PERFECT right now :)
Love how you guys are so excited for me...I think its funny :)
Ok, ok....but it will be (girlfriend led:) someday. Think of all the marriages you know that work...the wife is in charge! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnyway, my wife and I are looking for some recommendations as to where we should go hiking in the Scottsdale area. (our 20th anniversary getaway.)
Any favorites?
Whatever-
ReplyDeleteCamelback and Pinnacle Peak are great hikes...PP a little easier than Cback....though both are horribly busy on the weekends. The McDowell Mountains have TONS of hikes...and range from pretty simple and flat to nice, challenging climbs of different lengths...there are TONS of places to go hiking here!
P.S. I was in a previous relationship that was definitely me-led....and I actually hated it. Would much prefer a relationship where "he" could take charge a little! :)
Thanks for your ideas on hiking. all the books talk about Cback. I'll make sure we don't go on the weekend, we leave tuesday so monday would work.
ReplyDeleteThe whole wife led thing gets way over blown on the net. It's really just about treating your woman today the same way you treated her when you first started dating. Thoughtful gifts, opening doors, listening and yes, really caring about her sexual needs first.
Any favorite upscale bars you like in the Scottsdale area? (No way my wife would go to a bar where you point to your belt buckel as your form of I.D.)
